Our Newly Covered Chair
J was not particularly thrilled to use his furniture factory experience again but gee, it came in handy, lol. Thanks to MamaP for her stain and shellac wisdom imparted so many moons ago. They helped in this endeavor as well.

Mama's got a new shirt!

This was a jr.'s tshirt that I picked up after halloween on Walmart's clearance. I had intended to cut it down and make M a shirt with it but decided that it was MINE MINE ALLMINE instead. You can't see but I put the red serged edges on the outside for a fun effect. I also added long sleeves with the fun red and white stripes. I was totally thrilled this morning to discover that the gray on the shirt matches my fingerless gloves! Yay!

Look it's a bag!

I broke the mold with this one. Thousands of firsts! Self drafted pattern, zipper that went in correctly, faux leather vinyl strap (MADE BY ME!), small clutchish style bag. There's a cute plaid blingy version on it's way to my soon to be 16 (!!!!!) year old sister. Hope she likes it.
(Just in case you wondered, LOOKIE!! It's the Evil Princess Dress!)

Since I'm showing things...The girly has heard me complain about her not wearing what I make her (I have been kind of loud about it the last week or so.) I made the bottom dress out of one of my all time FAVORITE AH prints. It is loud and obnoxious and awesome! It is also NOT pink. Up until today's fashion show with Monster's new pants she flat out refused to wear it. I asked her to model it so I could show "my friends online." Now she won't take it off. Ha. There's something to be said for jealosy. The top shirt is just a simple wrap shirt from an ottobre long ago and her pants are stretch terry leggings from the latest ottobre. The tutu is play clothes recently rediscovered thanks to the Y's "dance class."

A Shy Valentine

I decided to make Monsterboy a "boutiquish" outfit for Valentine's this year. Mostly, this decision stems from Little Girly being 3 (read: mean) and not wanting to wear anything except the Evil Princess Dress. There is also the fact that he is quite soon going to be too old for such outfits and I wanted to try my hand at large scale applique before it is too late for him. On top of all of that, it is hard to come up with a tame V-day outfit that doesn't require a campshirt (blech) so I figured I'd make him something over the top and thus far have had a BLAST making it.
You can't see it here but the hearts along the odd shaped pocket are all black and red mixed together. I had fun messing with my dec stitches, tensions and different threads for the bobbin and the needle.
